The Antonia 2000 talking scale was designed to be special. It has nothing in common with any other weighing-machine, except that it weighs people!
As you can see from this demo, it talks to people (we have many languages available) and jokes with them. If you step
on the platform, it will say 'step down the platform, you are hurting me! or put the coin into the slot!'
If you weigh more than 100 Kg (220 Lb) it will tell you 'only one person please!' and finally, according to your BMI
(Body mass index = weight/height squared) it will tell you if you are Slim, OK, Fat or Very Fat!
Of course it can be set to weigh in Kg or Lb, and the height can be measured in Cm as well as feet and inches.
Behind the jokes there is some serious technology: weight is measured with a accurate strain gauge load cell, height is measured
with a accurate ultrasonic ranging unit. But usually people do not play this scale because of this, they play it for fun!
